Charming atmosphere complemented by a spacious room featuring a cozy four-poster bed and a relaxing spa bath with lovely views of the surrounding hills. The breakfast was exceptional, with friendly staff enhancing the welcoming vibe. Despite some limited parking, my experience was truly delightful, especially the impressive meals like the pan-roasted beef tenderloin during dinner.

Had an amazing time with friends, exploring Mam Tor and the caverns. The rooms were cozy, and the food was fantastic. Breakfast really set us up for our days out, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. We even got takeaways for our hikes, what a nice touch! I'd definitely come back again for another adventure.
The only downside was the room near the door that kept slamming, which disturbed our sleep.

It was just a fitting option for a two-day stay in Castleton with great value. The squid starter was lovely and refreshing. For a nice dinner, perhaps skip the pizza.

Characterful and Welcoming Atmosphere
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, especially the cozy atmosphere created by the log fire and the lovely touches in the room like biscuits and a small bottle of wine. The breakfast was freshly cooked with a variety of choices, and the staff were attentive and friendly, providing great service. The location is perfect for exploring the Peak District, but it would have been nice if the breakfast started a bit earlier to accommodate an early schedule.

We had a lovely stay for 3 nights with fab views of the castle! The bar area was cozy, but could use speedy service—had to wait too long for drinks. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice for chats. Can't wait to come back and try the food next time. menu looked really good!

Enjoyed the cozy atmosphere with multiple log fires crackling away, keeping the place warm during snowy March weather. The four poster room was inviting, and the bathroom modern and clean—simple necessities fulfilled. Dinner in the pub was a delight, with generous portions of tasty food. Staff were friendly and made us feel welcomed. I noticed the rooms could use some upgrades, particularly with heating, as some systems were quite old and noisy. Despite this, I slept well on a comfortable bed.
